Key Features

1. Automatic Tag Matching

Samplism features a breakthrough technology that automatically categorizes audio samples into tags. With Samplism, you don’t need to waste your time anymore on manually categorizing your audio files. Just drag and drop directories on your Mac into Samplism. All audio samples are automatically categorized into tags. It’s practically a magic.

2. Search for Audio Samples using Tags and Auto Tags

Samplism provides a simple, quick and easy way to search for audio samples using tags and auto tags. By simply selecting a tag, all its corresponding samples will be shown in the Sample List. In addition, auto tags allow you to search for samples with more specific criteria.

3. Manual Tag Matching

The automatic tag matching feature in Samplism allows you to quickly and conveniently classify audio samples into tags. But sometimes the matching results may not be accurate. With the manual tagging feature, you can classify samples more precisely.

4. User-Defined Tags

In addition to a rich set of built-in tags, Samplism allows you to create your own tags and group tags. With the user-defined tagging feature, you can categorize audio samples much more accurately.

7. Files View

The Files View allows you to simply and quickly search for audio samples on a directory-basis.

8. Simplism: the Samplism mini player

Simplism is designed to use with DAWs or other audio apps together on a single monitor screen. It takes up very little space on your screen and still provides most key features of Samplism such as navigating, previewing and searching for your audio samples.

Samplism provides a super easy way to import well-known third-party libraries installed on your Mac. Samplism automatically detects well-known third-party libraries, so you don’t need to worry about finding the directory location of third-party libraries. No setup is required. All you have to do is to simply import them with just one-click.

(* Logic Pro X, Ableton Live, Native Instruments, Loopcloud, Splice and AKAI MPC supported)

11. Working with DAWs

Simply drag and drop audio samples, the waveform selection or transient regions into DAWs. It just works. A powerful drag and drop feature in Samplism greatly improves workflow and increase creativity. Sampling has never been easier with Samplism.

  1. I know this might be complicated but I have a desktop and a laptop that I use for production. Would it be possible to have a sync feature for the libraries on both machines ? Provided they both have access to a cloud storage , it would be fantastic if all ratings labels etc would sync between devices .

    cheers

  2. Imagine a world where samplism could link to ableton the same way Splice Bridge does. And playback samples in key and project bpm.

now that would be a world i’d live in.

    much respect samplism team.

  3. I was wondering if you could remove the extra nested folder for every folder in the Library view? It is a bit frustrating that there is *only* one folder per one folder and *always* one folder per subfolder. There is an entire sub-level that is completely unnecessary and makes it unwieldy to organize libraries.

In order to have multiple folders under one library, I have to nest it under another physical folder, so there is no actual abstraction happening, its just that you *must* have a folder in a folder *every time*.

It is the one thing that makes this program not fully perfect and it seems like it wouldn’t be a big change since you could just eliminate the extra folder and it wouldn’t change anything for users except one less click.

    1. Yeah, it would be great if you could remove it please. (Or have an option to remove it) It seems completely unnecessary and is a bit of an annoyance tbh. Hopefully auditioning samples via MIDI (pitched) is coming in V2 also, I know quite a few people who this is a dealbreaker for creatively and as a result have stayed with Audiofinder. (Samplism is massively superior imo but pitched MIDI auditioning is essential). 🙂

  4. Pitched playback via MIDI & having the waveform display not take focus away from the sample list when clicking on it so you can keep using the up and down keys to browse in V2 would make Samplism even more amazing, pleeeeeeeease do it!!!! 🙂

Keyboard shortcuts for each of the coloured favourite markers would be amazing too, maybe even the ability to name them?

Thanks for the hard work, P.

  5. hi! the best in the business. thank you for your effort. This software allows my creativity to flow differently. When would we expect the bpm and key feature ? maybe even a transpose feature to hear different keys.

    much appreciated.

  6. I’m loving Samplism! I’m dreaming of some more modernized workflow improvements.

Specifically, it would be amazing to have a way to do filter results using custom searches, and save these as Saved Searches. A really good example of what I’m imagining is Discord’s text-based search. If, in the search bar, you could write something like “tag:kick” and “tag:90s” as an AND logic in the same search field, you could narrow down samples super quickly. This could either replace or augment the current “filter” section, and having an area to save these searches and return to them quickly. Would be amazing.

Also, I love the custom tag area, but adding, changing, and removing tags is currently rather slow. This is primarily because the sample stops playing as soon as you add the tag, which interrupts the workflow. Any way to do a keyboard shortcut + type (autocomplete) tag system, similar to how the tag workflow works in Notion and others, would be amazing. Little improvements like this could make this app much more streamlined.

But really, this app is head and shoulders better than any other sample manager I can find, and certainly far better than Finder or (god forbid) iTunes. I know many working producers and A&Rs who would benefit greatly using this program. Keep up the amazing work!

  7. hey any updates on the bpm and key detection features? As a dnb producer it would be fantastic if it can auto detect bpm for breaks and then allow us to preview at a faster speed / pitch . Also would it be possible to sync with the daw ? so that loops can play at the same speed as the project file ?

    much thanks

  8. I’d love if Samplism can organise One-shots and loops separately. Another thing that I’m dreaming about is the ability to search similar sounds. Like in Sononym, XO, etc.

  9. I love this app, but why does every directory have to be shown at two hierarchy levels? Its not like you can add more than one folder to a Library, so why make the user click so many times?

For example, I have an organization “MyOrg”. I want to add a folder called “Loops” to it. In that folder are two more folders. This is what I would expect to be able to do:

    👍🏼
    MyOrg /
    └── Loops
    ├─── Looppack A
    │   ├─── myloop – 001.wav
    │   ├─── myloop – 002.wav
    │   └─── myloop – 003.wav
    └─── Looppack B
    ├──── myloop – 001.wav
    ├──── myloop – 002.wav
    └──── myloop – 003.wav

But instead of just having a directory in the “MyOrg” library, I have to create a new sub-library called “Loops”. And in that library there is another folder called “Loops”:

    MyOrg /
    └── Loops
    └── Loops
    ├── Looppack A
    │   ├── myloop – 001.wav
    │   ├── myloop – 002.wav
    │   └── myloop – 003.wav
    └── Looppack B
    ├─── myloop – 001.wav
    ├─── myloop – 002.wav
    └─── myloop – 003.wav

Ok, well what if I just import the sub folders and just tell it they are both part of the same MyOrg and both part of a Library called Loops? I get this:

    MyOrg/
    ├── Loops
    │   └── Looppack A
    │   ├── myloop-001.wav
    │   ├── myloop-002.wav
    │   └── myloop-003.wav
    └── Loops
    └── Looppack B
    ├── myloop-001.wav
    ├── myloop-002.wav
    └── myloop-003.wav

It would make a little more sense if I could put more than one folder into “Loops” the Library, but I can’t. There is a one-to-one relationship between a folder and its parent library. It’s somewhat maddening.
